KitchenAid Cream Cheese Brownies

Ingredients

1 cup butter or margarine (I prefer using butter.)

4 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate

2 1/2 cups sugar

4 eggs

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp. salt

1 cup chopped walnuts

2 tsps. vanilla extract

1 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened

Instructions

1. Melt butter and chocolate in double boiler over boiling water. Remove from heat and set aside.

2. Place  2 cups of sugar and 3 eggs in bowl. Attach bowl and flat beater. Turn to Speed 4 and beat a minute and a half, then stop and scrape bowl. Turn to Speed 4 gradually add chocolate mixture beating until well blended. Stop and scrape bowl. 

3. Add flour, salt, walnuts, and 1 tsp. vanilla. Turn to Speed 2 and beat 1 minute., until well-blended. Remove bowl and set aside.

4. Place remaining sugar, egg, vanilla, and cream cheese in clean bowl. Attach bowl and flat beater. Turn to Speed 2 and beat 30 seconds. Stop and scrape bowl. Turn to Speed 6 and beat 1 minute.

5. Using a medium ice cream scoop ( 2 tbsp.), drop chocolate and cream cheese batter by scoops full into a greased and floured 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan. Swirl the batters lightly with a knife, Bake at 350F for 45 to 50 minutes. When cool, cut into 24 2 x 2"  squares.
