A tangy, spicy salad dressing that is great on a salad but is also used on sandwiches.
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup ketchup-style chili sauce
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon finely minced onion
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
salt
pepper
In a medium bowl, mix mayonnaise, chili sauce, wine vinegar, minced onion, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder together. Taste and then add salt and pepper to taste.
Dressing can be made 2 weeks ahead. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Optional: Add 2-4 teaspoon prepared horseradish.
Add a chopped hard boiled egg and some paprika.
Garnish with chopped pardley
And if you want to go purist and authentic, add 1 tablespoon of red or black caviar.
